Never been to a Cherry PaoPao workshop before? Here's exactly what happens, from the moment you walk in.

Before you arrive.

No experience is needed and nothing to prepare. Wear whatever you'd normally wear. If you're coming for a specific occasion piece, it can help to have a rough idea in mind, but plenty of people show up with nothing decided and figure it out at the table.

Walking in.

You'll be greeted and shown to your seat at the workbench, where your materials for the session are already laid out or ready to be chosen from our tray displays. There's no rush at this stage. Take a minute to look around, get a coffee if one's offered, and get comfortable before anything starts.

The briefing.

Someone from the team will talk you through the basics, the tools you'll use, how the beads and charms fit together, and any techniques specific to what you're making that day. This takes a few minutes and covers everything you need, no prior skill required.

Choosing your pieces.

This is usually the part people enjoy most and spend the most time on. Beads, charms, stones, and clasps are all laid out to browse and combine. There's no wrong way to choose. Some people know exactly what they want before they sit down. Others change their mind three times before landing on something they didn't expect to love.

Making it.

With guidance from the team as needed, you'll assemble your piece by hand. Most sessions run long enough that there's no pressure to rush a decision partway through. If something isn't working, you can take it apart and start that section again.

Finishing up.

Once your piece is complete, we'll check the clasp and construction are secure before you leave with it. Most people wear their piece straight out the door.

How long it takes.

Sessions typically run around ninety minutes to two hours, depending on what you're making and how many decisions you enjoy lingering over.
