How Maya wears her piece every single day

Maya bought her first PaoPao piece almost a year ago, a simple chain with two charms she added slowly over a few visits. She wasn't looking for a signature piece. She just liked one charm, then came back for a second a few months later.

What's stuck with us is how ordinary the wearing of it has become for her. It's not saved for going out. It's the thing she puts on with her coffee in the morning, the same motion as reaching for her keys. She's worn it to work, to the gym, to bed some nights when she forgets to take it off, which she tells us she doesn't mind.

"I stopped thinking of it as jewellery a while ago," she said. "It's more like it's just part of getting dressed now, except I never take it off to get undressed."

Her charms have changed slightly since she first came in. One got swapped for a smaller version that sits better against her collarbone. Another she added after a trip, not to commemorate it exactly, more because it reminded her of a colour she saw a lot of while she was there.

That's the pattern we notice most with people who wear their pieces daily. The jewellery stops being an event and becomes a habit, quiet enough that they mostly forget it's there, until someone asks about it and they realise they have a whole story ready.
